Our pork is produced by Ben and Susan Loewen, one of our farming partners. We have a network of independent family farms who raise livestock for us according to our All Natural Protocol.
All of our pork comes from one farm. This provides excellent traceability as we know exactly how each animal was raised and processed and gives you confidence in where your food came from.
Ben and Susan farm just down the road from us, near Osler, Saskatchewan. The feeder pigs have access to the outdoors where they can root around in a deep bed of straw and mature naturally. The sows farrow on straw and are not crated so they can exhibit natural maternal behaviours. Clean air, a clean barn, access to the outdoors and careful meat cutting all contribute to the superior flavour of our pork.
The pigs are fed a vegetable and grain based diet with peas, flax and canola meal as protein and no growth promoting medications or hormones are administered.
Our hogs are raised according our All Natural protocol. No antibiotics, growth hormones or animal byproducts are fed or administered. We do not use gestation crates, sows roam free and farrow in birthing pens on straw. The feeder pigs can roam around outside and root in deep straw to satisfy their natural instincts.
